Inspired by a little RP between me and a deviantart friend. Upendi, daughter of Kiara and Kovu, is kidnapped by Anzura--daughter of Scar--and chosen against her will to be her brother, Nuka's--who has survived--heir. To ensure this, he sends his followers to ambush Pride Rock, killing Upendi's family. This scene never actually happens, but it came to mind so I decided to draw it. Remind you of another famous TLK scene? This was entirely digital, so if it's a little out of proportion, it's cuz I've never drawn a full pic in photoshop without any hand drawn stuff scanned before!

Vitani and her father, Tojo. I think he's her father. They're both scruffy, and have blue eyes/pink noses. And one solid color around their eyes....and ear rims! And I think he's Kovu's father too.

He saw her eyes widen--fixated on the newly carved scar surrounding his left eye. "But you...." he continued, full of an anger he didn't think he was capable of, "you aren't my mother."

Anyway: Sam Dorian grew up shadowed in JD's image, after his father committed suicide when Sam was ten. Even now, at age twenty-six, no one looks at him as his own person--all they see is a younger version of JD. Though Sam himself holds negative feelings towards "the man who ruined his life" as he puts it, he ends up becoming a doctor and working at Sacred Heart; perhaps to prove to people he is not his father and will never do what he did, even he has his moments of questioning, where he'll stare in the mirror, eyes wide with confusion and fear, and wonder if everyone else is is right....maybe....he really is his father.

He was so close--just a few more minutes and he'd be out of this horrible place. Up ahead, his aunt bounded forward; smacking hyenas out of the way as she went. His sister, Sasa, followed suite. But someone....someone was.... "Help!" He skidded to a halt, recognizing the cry. "Wakati!" He shrieked, whirling around. His eyes locked with those of his terrified brother....and four other, golden sets of hyena irises, circling the young cub. Anger bubbled inside Awali, and he charged, teeth bared and claws extended. "Get away from my brother!" He roared.... Awali, the eldest son of Kopa and Vitani. His last, noble act.

what if Nala had agreed to be Scar's mate (he tried to seduce her in the broadway show). She'd be queen of the new Pride lands....no one could over power Scar, and with Nala on his side, they stood no chance. And what of Simba? Or Zira? Zira would probably try to kill Nala to get to Scar and Scar would banish her. On her own, she finds her way aaaaall the way out to the desert, where she stumbles upon the oasis where Simba is.... She tells him what's been happening--knowing that he is the rightful king--and that the Pridelands are dying. Then blah blah.... However, what Simba doesn't know, is that Nala is on Scar's side now. He stands no chance of over powering Scar, as Nala tricks him and has him cornered. However, as Simba lay beaten on the ground (curtesy of Scar--Zira is busy with the hyenas) Nala can't bear to see her childhood friend die before her eyes. So she tells Scar to banish Simba, Zira, and all the followers of Mufasa. A few months later, Kovu and Vitani are born to Scar and Nala, and Kiara is born to Simba and Zira. Which is where this pic comes in. Kovu is prince of the new Pridelands, and Kiara is the ragtag chosen one. It's most likely by this point, Simba eventually died from his wounds, leaving Zira to raise little Kiara on her own. She's still angry at Scar and Nala, and wants revenge for being banished. And for her new lover's death. Twisted, right?

Yuki and Taiyo, the grandchildren of Kimba! Yuki (white cub) is Lune's daughter and Taiyo is Lukio's son. I had a whole story around this, but I don't remember much of it. I know Yuki looks just like Kimba, but come on! Why aren't there any female white lion cubs? And NO Leona doesn't count cuz she was colored wrong in the TV series. So I decided that Kimba's granddaughter would be white, and would be the main character--the Jungle Empress (instead of Jungle Emperor.)

Kopa is finally home, and is now king of Pride Rock. He's taken Spotty for a mate, as she was the first (besides he and Kovu) to turn against Zira. And you know, he loves her too. They now have a daughter, Ukweli, named in honor of Kopa's late adoptive younger brother, who was the one who confirmed Kopa really WAS the son of Simba. And yes, he DOES have a scar across his eye. I'm not really sure what's going on in this pic. I just felt like drawing Kopa, but decided to do a family pic instead. Since I love KopaxSpotty :P And Ukweli's such a wreckless/restless cub.

My version of Afua: Tama and Malka's cub. Originally he was going to be Kula and Malka's--mostly for fur differentiation--but I like TamaxMalka better. Afua's colors aren't exactly as I'd like, but they're not bad. I think he's a nice mix of his parents. During Scar's reign, Tama left the pride lands and joined Malka's pride (with his persuasion) because it was safer. However, a few years later, the hyenas migrated and attacked Malka's pride. To protect his wife and infant son, Malka sent them to live with Simba, while he fought off the hyenas.... There, Afua grew up, determined to take over his father's pride someday. Afua, Kopa and Nuka were best friends in my world.

"Actually, Taka, the king looks a lot like you." "A lot like ME?" Taka echoed, in obvious disbelief "Yeah, right."

Vitani's mate, and the father of Kivuli and Faragha. The son of one of the many outsider lionesses, he was forced to leave the outlands when he grew older, and did not see his childhood friend--Vitani--until after the events of Simba's Pride. He does not live in the pride lands with his mate, having found his own pride. It is rumored that his father is Mheetu, but is not confirmed. Since he (as an infant) and his mother joined the outsiders after they were exiled by Simba, it is unsure where his original home was.

The eventual daughter of Kopa and Spotty, from my alternate version of Simba's Pride. Why Spotty? Well, I wanted her to have an outlander shaped nose....and also, with no Nuka around, Dotty doesn't find her true love--even if Kopa, or Taka, is very popular with the ladies in the outlands. Ukweli's name means 'truth' in honor of his brother, Kovu. Kopa eventually returns to the pride lands because of Kovu, and takes Spotty as his queen.

Since Zira is always busy training Taka, Kovu and Vitani are left alone. While Vitani could care less, Kovu becomes quite a sad little cub without his mother's attention. Before he meets Kiara and her family of course. I love Kovu in this story. Even though he is no longer the chosen one, he still plays an important role....

An idea I'm entertaining, for an alternate version of Simba's Pride. Instead of killing Kopa in his cubhood (YES I think Zira killed Kopa don't even start) Zira went after him when he was still an infant. However, having a young cub herself, she couldn't bring himself to kill him, so instead she kidnapped him and left. She was already banished for being Scar's follower and refusing to change, and when this happened, Simba and Nala thought their cub had died, because they were never able to find him. As Kopa grew up, he was raised by Zira, who had given him the name "Taka." THIS is how she would get her final revenge, by training Simba's own son against him. However, because Kopa takes all of Zira's time, Kovu and Vitani are left alone. And because he is left alone, no one comes to get Kovu when he meets Kiara....so guess who gets to know the king's daughter over the years with no trouble? And Simba as well? Kopa has a scar in this picture, and well he should. Zira gave it to him, after she accused him of killing his younger brother.....parallel to the scene in SP where Zira accuses Kovu of killing Nuka.

Didn't like her name. Changed it. I thought 'Faragha' suited her, plus, her name means 'opportunity' or 'chance.' She looks like a slightly less scruffy version of her mother, only with her father's eyes and Nuka's coloring.

Yeah, I changed his name. I like this one better. Kuwasha is a variation of the word "light." And YES I made him a white lion. Also gave him blue eyes....look like anyone you know?
